Governor McDonald is a part of US Black heritage.
Governor McDonald was a Georgian.

Governor was born in 1887 in Clarksville, Habersham, Georgia, USA. He was the son of Drew McDonald and Tenah Thompson.

He was recorded in the 1900 census as the 13 year old son of Drew McDonald, who was a widower by this time.[1]

Around 1903 he married America Makelhan (McElhannon),and they had three children. She passed away before the 1910 census. Governor was recorded in the 1910 census as the 28 year old widow, railroad section hand and son-in-law living with his mother-in-law Margaret and his three children all under the age of 10. [2]

He then met and married Annie Mangrum on November 6, 1910, in Hall, Georgia.[3] Nothing else is know about her at this time.

Governor was recorded in the 1920 census as the 25 year old widow, coal miner and head of household in Fairfield, Jefferson, Alabama.[4] Two of his teenage daughters, Martha (14) and Victoria McDonald (1906-1989)(13), lived with him along with a couple of boarders.

On December 27, 1922, he married Lucy S. Ward and they had one daughter together. [5]

Governor was recorded in the 1930 census as the 40 year old coal miner and head of household in Fairfield, Alabama. USA.[6]

He was also recorded in the 1940 census as the 50 year old coal miner and head of household in Birmingham, Alabama, USA.[7]

Governor pass away on April 19, 1962 in Birmingham, Alabama.[8]
