Biography

Flora was born in 1887 in Plumstead, Kent.^[1]

Following her mother Belinda's death in 1899 Flora and her siblings were placed in Childrens Homes. Flora was recorded in the 1901 Census, as 13 years old, born in Plumstead and residing in Ticehurst, Sussex with 8 other girls aged between 2 and 14 years old, including her younger sister Dorothy (4 years old). The Home was either "The Bridge of Hope Mission", or more likely "The Haven Home for Girls" both of which were operating in Ticehurst at the time. ^[2]

At the time of the 1911 Census aged 23, she was recorded as an unmarried general domestic servant at the Bushell family residence in Greenwich, Blackheath, SE London.^[3]

Flora married John Jack Arthur in Greenwich in 1914 ^[4]

Flora passed away in 1975 in Bexley, Kent^[5]
