Biography
John was born in 1941 in Davenport, Iowa. He was the son of John McDonnell and Mary O'Connor. He passed away in 2022 in Pompano Beach, Florida.
Both John and his brother Tom earned degrees in English at the University of Notre Dame. They both had taught high school in San Francisco and later moved to New York. John's obituary outlines his later career in counseling. He was also an organist and worked as a music director at his church in Pompano Beach, Florida.
He left two siblings and many nieces and nephews, but there is no indication that he ever had any children himself.
