John McDougall CMG LLD is Notable.
He married Marion E. K. Morris, both from Renfrew, Upper Canada.[2] He was born in Renfrew, Upper Canada on 6 Nov 1838.[3] McDougall was educated at the University of Toronto, where he earned his BA, MA and LLD.[4]
John worked as a lumberer.[2] From 1867 to 1871, he represented South Renfrew in the legislative assembly of Ontario. He represented the same constituency in the Canadian House of Commons from 1869 to 1872 and again from 1874 to 1878.[5] In 1878, he was appointed auditor general of Canada and held this position until his retirement in 1905.[4]
He died in Ottawa on 15 Jan 1909[1] and was buried in Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa, Ontario.[4]
