Robert Henry McDuffie, age 88 of Jacksonville, FL passed away June 27, 2012. He was born August 26, 1923 in Hickox, GA, the son of Robert McDuffie and Elizabeth Wainright McDuffie.
Mr. McDuffie served our country proudly in the U.S. Army including the African, Sicilian, and Omaha Beach Theatres of Operation.
He retired from CSX Railroad following 40 years of dedicated service. He was along time member of the VFW, and enjoyed membership at First Baptist Church of Orange Park.
Mr. McDuffie was predeceased by his loving wife Cherry in 2007.
He is survived by his son Rev. Robert H. McDuffie, Jr. (Cindy); his daughters Dorothy Anne McDuffie, and Rebeca M. Knorr (Glen); also 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; and his brother Joel McDuffie.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Monday July 2, 2012 at First Baptist Church, 1140 Kingsley Ave., Orange Park, FL with Rev. Stanley Puckett officiating.
Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 PM at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park. Friends are encouraged to remit memorial donations in his name to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida in lieu of flowers.[1]
