James Downey married Jane McIlroy on 10 February 1865 at Killeavy, Armagh, Ireland. Fathers Andrew Downey and Matthew McIlroy. ^[1]

On 31 March 1901 the Downey family lived in James Street, Camlough, Armagh. James Downey (66) General Grocer & Jane Downey (61) with William John Downey (23) Flax Preparing Master, Helen Miriam Downey (17) Scholar, Gertrude Downey (15) Damask Weaver and servant Robert Hare (26) Coach Man Domestic Servant, all Presbyterian. ^[2]

On 2 April 1911 widow Jane Downey (71) lived with her son-in-law/daughter in James Street, Camlough, Armagh. William George Black (35) Tenter Power Loom & Gertrude Black (25) married 5 years with Olive Black (4), Thomas Black (2), & John Black. ^[3]
