Biography
John McElroy was born in the town of Enniskillen, county Fermanagh, Province of Ulster, Ireland, on the 14th day of May, 1782.
John McElroy sailed on 25 June 1803 from Londonderry, on the "Serpent" landing in Baltimore, MD on 25 August.
ordained 3 May 1817 at the age of 35 yrs.
Father John McElroy S.J. was a chaplain with US Army in the war on the Rio Grande in 1846.
Died 12 Sep 1877 at age 95 in Frederick, Maryland, [1]
