William Ronald was born in 1893 in Granite Hill, Victoria, Australia. He was the son of Henry McErvale and Annie Elizabeth (Smith) McErvale.[1][2][3]

When William Ronald was about 23 he married Winifred Mary Ann Henderson in 1916 in Victoria, Australia.[4][5][6]

William Ronald died at the age of about 75 in 1968 in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.[7][8][9][10] He is interred at Nandaly Cemetery[11].
