Dr. McEvers was listed as a veterinary surgeon in the 1912 Chicago City Directory. He was listed as a physician in the 1913 directory. He is listed in "The Official Register of Legally Qualified Physicians" published in March 1915 by the state of Illinois Board of Health as having graduated from the Chicago College of Medicine and Surgery in 1912. This school was part of Valparaiso University in 1912 (it was purchased by Loyola University in 1917) and a search of Valparaiso's digital yearbook collections for Albert McEvers comes up blank.
Though he was a Canadian national, he served in the First Illinois Cavalry during World War I.
In 1913 Albert McEvers was treating my great aunt May Plowman Moody and took her to the People's Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, where she died.
