John was born about 1785. He passed away about 1853. John McFadden served as the public register of Rutherford County, replacing George C. Camp when Camp resigned in January 1835, being re-elected in January 1839 until 1851 when he was replaced by William Lewis Griffin, He then became a member of the board of common school superintendents.
