• Hugh McFadden was born in 1877 at Aghaloughan, Drummaul, County Antrim, Ireland. He was the son of Alexander McFadden and Jane McCullough^[1].
• In the 1901 Ireland census, Hugh McFadden was age 23 living at Aghaloughan, Dummaul, Co. Antrim with his parents Alexander McFadden (78), a farmer, Jane McFadden (60) and siblings James McFadden (37), Maggie McFadden (35), David McFadden (31), Thomas McFadden (27) and Agnes Jane McFadden (21)^[2].
• In the 1911 Ireland census, Hugh McFadden was age 30, a farmer, living at Aghaloughan, Dummaul, Co. Antrim with his widowed mother Jane McFadden (67) and siblings MargrettaMcFadden (35), David McFadden (37), Thomas R McFadden (34) and Agnes Jane McFadden (28). Also John McNomara (40), farm servant^[3].
• Jeanie Thompson married Hugh McFadden, a farmer, of Ballytresna, County Antrim on 14 July 1915, at Second Antrim Presbyterian Church, Antrim, County Antrim^[4].
