In the 1901 Ireland census, Hugh McFadden was age 23 living at Aghaloughan, Dummaul, Co. Antrim with his parents Alexander McFadden (78), a farmer, Jane McFadden (60) and siblings James McFadden (37), Maggie McFadden (35), David McFadden (31), Thomas McFadden (27) and Agnes Jane McFadden (21)[2].
In the 1911 Ireland census, Hugh McFadden was age 30, a farmer, living at Aghaloughan, Dummaul, Co. Antrim with his widowed mother Jane McFadden (67) and siblings MargrettaMcFadden (35), David McFadden (37), Thomas R McFadden (34) and Agnes Jane McFadden (28). Also John McNomara (40), farm servant[3].
Jeanie Thompson married Hugh McFadden, a farmer, of Ballytresna, County Antrim on 14 July 1915, at Second Antrim Presbyterian Church, Antrim, County Antrim[4]. The witnesses were Mary Morrison, Jeanie's cousin, and Thomas McFadden, Hugh's brother. Jeanie's husband does not appear to be related to her sister Agnes's husband, William James McFadden.
Hugh and Jeanie McFadden had at least one child, Jeanie McFadden in 1917[5].
