Little is known of Mr McFarland except that he married Sarah E. some where around 1850. Family oral history says he owned his own business as a casket maker but this has not been authenticated from Titusville business records. He probably died sometime around 1877-1880. Possibly his sister or sister-in-law Frances McFarland lived in Titusville on Washington Street. Whether at the same address or not is unknown. The census of 1880 shows Frances at age 36 with children Frank (12) Adelaide(7) and John(5).
