This family was one of the colony of Scotch and Irish families that emigrated to America in 1718, and many of whom settled in the vicinity of Hopkinton. The name of the first American ancestor was Robert, who was born about 1703.[1] He married Elizabeth McClure in 1736 in Boston, and their children were:

Ebenezer McFarland [MacFarlane], b. 15 Jun 1751, Hopkinton, Middlesex, MA d. 23 Apr 1830, MA, (Age 78 years)
He passed away March, 5, 1801 in Hopkinton MA at the age of 98.
