Rebecca married (1) about 1735 in Paxtang(?), Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to Andrew MAYES born about 1710 in Scotland, died about May 1754 in Lancaster Count y, Pennsylvania.

Rebecca married (2) 1755 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to Samuel McELHENNY born about 1720 in Pennsylvania

1754 PENNSYLVANIA, Lancaster County. WILL of Andrew Mays, dated 16 Apr proved 27 June 1754, named his wife Rebecca and brother Thomas Mays, executor. Children: James, Mary, Rachel, Rebecca, Margaret, and Susanna. [4]

James Mays and Rachel Mays both age 14-21 chooses James Starret as guardian
Thomas Mays appointed guardian over rest of children.

Mr. Mays in his will provided for his widow, but expressly said that she could not enjoy his mansion if she again married. In 1755, she married Samuel McElhenny, and changed her place of abode.
