Margaret (McFarlane) Cameron was born in Scotland.

Margaret was born in 1840.

Margaret married John Cameron in Victoria, in 1858.[1]

Margaret passed away near Mount Gambier, South Australia, on 05 Aug 1908 aged 68 years.[2][3]

The death occurred on Tuesday evening of Mrs. Margaret. Cameron, wife of Mr. John Cameron, farmer, and one of the best-known residents of this part of the south-east. The deceased, who was highly respected by a wide circle of friends, died from heart failure following a severe internal illness. The deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. Andrew MacFarlane, of Ardno, Victoria, and was born in Argyle-shire, Scotland, 68 years ago. She came to Australia with her parents in 1854. She was married to Mr. Cameron in January, 1858, and most, of the years since then they have resided In this district. For over 30 years Mr. Cameron was at German Creek, in charge of a property, belonging to the late Dr. W. J. Browne, but about four years ago went to reside on a home he purchased at Glencoe. Mr. and Mrs. Cameron celebrated their golden wedding in January last. The deceased had a famjly of 10 sons and two daughters, and ail of them were present to-day to mourn at her graveside. The sons are Messrs. Allan Cameron, Geelong; Andrew Cameron, Tullich, Casterton; John Cameron, Lake Wallace; K. A., H. A., M. D., and T. A. Cameron, of Glencoe; Alexander Cameron, Mount Gambier; William Cameron, Pinnaroo; and Peter Cameron, Millicent. The daughters are Mrs. F. W. Pegler, of Glencoe, and Mrs. A. O. Richards, of Pinnaroo. Her descendants include about, 40 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
