Benjamina was born in 1826 in Wick, Scotland.
Benjamina Horne McFarlane was 13 years old when she immigrated to the South Australian colony in 1839 on the SUPERB. She travelled with her parents Allan MacFarlane and wife Margaret nee Horne and siblings. [1]
Benjamina Horne McFarlane married Dr. Andrew Chalmers in 1850 at Mount Barker where he was the local medical doctor. [2]

Benjamina and Andrew had 6 children together (1 died as an infant) before Andrew Chalmers died in 1862, leaving Benjamina with 5 children aged between 2 and 10 years.
The two eldest daughters, Margaret (Madge) and Isabella, were brought up by her oldest sister Elizabeth (Aunt Bessie Begg) - because she had money and no children. Their offspring lived in England and some went to Canada.
Benjamina Chalmers passed away in October 1905 in South Australia at the age of 79. Her address was given as "Glensloy" in Childers St, North Adelaide.
Her beloved Andrew had passed away some 40 years before her aged in his 40s. She is buried with him at the Kensington Clayton Congregational (Wesleyan) Church graveyard, at Beulah Park, Adelaide, in South Australia, Australia.

We have different spellings of McFarlane/Macfarlane, but I don't think there can be any doubt that these are the same people.
And indeed it was probably something I did that led to the spurious second identity.
Can you approve the merge, please?
