Alexander Malcolm McFARLANE was born on 31 July 1877 in Naracoorte, Colony of South Australia[1]. His parents were Alexander MCFARLANE and Margaret McIVOR.

3 April 1916, Alexander enlisted in the Australian Imperial Forces, Service number: 2937. He was assigned to the 21/3 Light Horseman Regiment, saw service in Egypt, attained the rank of Private, returned to Australia and was discharged on 11 August 1919[2][3].

He passed away on 15 January 1924 in North Adelaide, South Australia, Australia[4] and was buried at the West Terrace Cemetery[5]

McFARLANE.-On January 15, at Hospital, North Adelaide, Alexander Malcolm, third son of Mrs. A. McFarlane, of Lucindale, in his 47th year.
