Callie McGhee was the second wife of John Ferdinand Council, and they married on Dec. 24th, 1908. John's first wife Hattie died in 1905, and in the 1910 census Callie is shown with several of Hattie's children, including Annie, Hallie, Flossie, and John Paschal. In 1920 Annie 29,Flossie 25, John Paschal 22, were still in the home. There was also a Joseph, 19, listed from John Council's prior marriage. Five children produced by Callie and John Council were also witnessed here, a couple named after Callie's sister Bell, and mother Ozella(Jennie). These were Bell b. Oct. 16, 1909, Robert Corey b. August 11, 1912, Ozella b. Feb 15, 1914, Charlie b. 1916, and George b. 1918. Also present in the home was Callie's aunt Marcella Snow(Jennie Snow Hunt's sister), age 66. There are other records for Callie in life events for her children. Daughter Bell married a Mr. Shipp, and Callie is mentioned in record of Bell's death, which occured August 16, 1986. Ozella married a Mr. High, again, Callie mentioned in death record. Callie is also mentioned in wedding of son Robert Corey Council. Callie's sister Alice, Callie's mom Jennie, and Callie's aunt Marcella Snow all buried at Martha's Chapel, Apex, NC. Husband John Council buried there as well.
