Biography

Mary May McGill was born 23rd March 1850, in Lachlan, NSW, Australia. She is the fifth child of nine born to Michael McGill and Anne McCarthy aka McDonald. She also had half siblings.

She was commonly referred to as Minnie May.

Minnie May was christend 14th June 1850 the ceremony was performed by Father M. McGrath, no sponsor listed, Father: Michael GILL of Lachlan, Mother: Ann McCARTHY.

Minnie May married John Glynn 14th April 1866, in Cowra, NSW, Australia.

Over a period of 26 years Minnie and John had 6 children. Sadly Minnie May would outlive her eldest, Mary Ann Glynn. She also didn't live to see her youngest, Grenfell "Harry" Glynn, grow up into a fine young man who served and sadly died for his country,

In 1895 Minnie May gave consent for her daughter Minnie Theresa Glynn to marry John Hewen.

Minnie May passed away 6th October 1898, in Grenfell, NSW, Australia. She was suffering from Toxemia and Influenza. Minnie May was 48 at the time of her death.

MRS. GLYNN, widow of the late Mr. John Glynn, died on Thursday. Deceased, who was in greatly reduced circumstances, is stated to have suffered much privation.

Minnie May was buried three days later at the General Cemetery, Grenfell, NSW, Australia.
