Biography
Rachel was born in 1900. She was the daughter of James McGill and Fanny Skinner.[1]
She married Charles Townsend Scanlan 28 January 1927 at Pinellas, Florida. [2]They were the parents of one child.
Rachel died 5 November 1952 at St. Petersburg, Florida at the age of 52.[3]

Mrs. C. T. Scanlan Dies in Hospital in St. Petersburg
Mrs. Rachel McGill Scanlan, wife of C. Townsend Scanlan and a former Valparaiso resident, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony Hospital, St Petersburg, Fla., according to announcement made today. She had been in ill health for the past year.
The decedent was born in Valparaiso, a daughter of James H. and Fanny (Skinner) McGiill.
Her husband, C. Townsend Scanlan owns and operates the Fenway hotel at Dunedin, Fla., where the family resides.
Surviving besides the husband are one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Flowers, Dunedinn, Florida.
Memorial rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Moss Funeral home in Clearwater, Fla. Burial arrangements are indefinite.
