Biography

US Black Heritage Project
Louis McGill is a part of US Black heritage.
Louis McGill died young.

Louis McGill was born in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, in January 1900, a son of Weary (Werry) McGill and Allene (Hall) McGill. The 1900 U.S. census recorded him at the age of 5 months household in their household in Turkey Township, Williamsburg County, South Carolina. "Waring" and Allene McGill had been married four years and Allene had had three children, all of them living, and of whom Louis was the youngest, born in January 1900.[1]

Louis died some time before the 1910 U.S. Census was enumerated. That census recorded Werry McGill and wife Allein with children Lula, age 13, Willie, age 11, Bula, 8, and Ella, 6. Louis is not on this list. Allein was reported as having had five children, of whom four were living., so it is apparent that Louis had died since the 1900 census.[2]
