Sarah McGinley was born in Ireland about 1842. She was the daughter of Patrick McGinley and Bridget Dorsey. About 1852, when Sarah was bout 5 years old, the family immigrated to the United States and lived in New York City. Sarah married James Cloonan about 1871, most likely in New York. They had two daughters during their marriage: Mary E. and Elizabeth. James died about 1875, most likely in New York.
Sarah and her family must have moved to Logansport sometime before 1876, because Sarah married Michael Connors on October 1, 1876, in Cass County, Indiana. Michael was a widower and had at least 3 children from his previous marriage. Sarah and Michael had at least four more children of their own.
Michael worked for the Panhandle Railroad. Sarah contributed income to the family through her small boarding business in their homes (1209 Toledo Street 1897-1899 and 503 Canal Street 1899-1900).
Michael died on October 20, 1910, Logansport, Indiana. Sarah died of myocarditis on June 23, 1927, at the age of 85. At the time of her death, she resided with her daughter, Sadie Corcoran, at 1813 Clifton Avenue, in Logansport.
