• He had two draws in the Hancock Co., GA land lottery in 1805. He shows in the 1820 and 1830 census of Hancock Co., GA. He was a justice-of-the-peace in Hancock Co., ca. 1835. We have not found him in the 1840 census. He shows in the 1850 census of Hancock Co., GA, pg. 39, occupation, house carpenter. There is a George Washington McGinty living in Barbour Co., AL that could also be his son, but this is unconfirmed.

The entry below is not confirmed. It is from one of his family members:

"Robert McGinty is buried in the Harmony church cemetery, His grave was marked with a large rock between son, John Moore McGinty's grave and the fence that marks the cemetery boundary. This is oral information that was given my grandfather Andrew Maurice McGinty to several people. The rock has long been moved or stolen."

His probate records were filed and processed in Grimes Co. His son, John Moore McGinty was named administrator of his estate
