Biography
Lydia was born about 1815. When LYDIA McGowan was born on April 26, 1815, in New Jersey, her father, James, was 45 and her mother, Catherine, was 42. She married Hiram S Smith about 1835, in Tompkins County, New York. They had six children in 14 years. She died on October 12, 1890, in Allen County, Indiana, having lived a long life of 75 years.
