Biography

Elizabeth "Eliza" was born 2/5/1852 in Pennsylvania. Her father was John McGowan (Ireland) and her mother was Catherine Knott (PA). Her father died in 1851. In 1860 Eliza was living with her mother and siblings in Sadsbury Township, Lancaster. By 1870 the family was living in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Eliza married Phillip Rea on 2/3/1876 in Pennsylvania. The couple settled in Drumore, Lancaster, Pennsylvania where they were farmers. Eliza died 12/20/1925 and is buried with family members in the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery in Christiana, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
