Biography

Kathleen was born in 1951. She was the daughter of John McGrath and Irene Beerbower.

She first married (unknown) Beebe. They had two sons, Tommie and Glen.

She then married in 1975 David Northrup and they had a daughter Stacie

She passed away in 2015. She was cremated and her ashes given to a family member.

Kathleen McGrath Northrup, age 63, of Wesleyville, earned her Angel's Wings on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at UPMC Hamot. She was born in Erie on March 15, 1951, the daughter of the late John and Irene McGrath.

Kathleen was a lifelong member of St. James R.C. Church. She was a 1969 graduate of Academy High School. Kathleen was employed as a custodian for 27 years with the Iroquois School District, retiring in 2009. She was an avid gardener and was known for her beautiful gardens. She enjoyed doing crafts, playing cards with her card club, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Kathleen is survived by her husband of 40 years, David Northrup; three children, Tommie Beebe, Glenn Beebe, and Stacie Northrup (wife, Stephanie Shilling); daughter-in-law, Barbara Beebe; two brothers, John McGrath (Nancy) and Jeffery McGrath (Julie); three sisters, Pat Szoszorek (Leonard), Susan Grande, and Theresa Horanic (David); six grandchildren, Mia, Alesha, Brooke, Mitchell, Jade, and Joshua, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd. on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Wednesday at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. James R.C. Church. Private interment will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38101.
