Elizabeth was born in 1876. She was the daughter of John McGraw and Rosanna McKernan. She passed away in 1946.
After her mother's death, she went to live with her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Mary Kane McKernan.
When her grandfather died in 1882, her uncle, Prof. Peter J. McKernan, became her guardian. She was raised by her Uncle Peter and his sister, Bridget.
Elizabeth began using the name Elizabeth McKernan. She lived with her Uncle Peter almost her entire life until his death in 1941.
