Ann was baptised on 24 June 1836 and was at home with her father at Ovie in 1851 census. On 18 April 1858 Ann’s daughter Christina was baptised at Ovie, the father being recorded as Alexr. Mcpherson agricultural labourer of Ovie, and a note beside the entry in the register states “legitimated by the subsequent marriage of the parents, such marriage being registered in the parish of Laggan 23 April 1858.” [b.cert] Ann married Alex McPherson a nineteen year old agricultural labourer and went on to have eight more children. They had left the Laggan area by 1861. Her father Alexander McGrigor died in August 1866, leaving only one shilling to daughter Mrs Ann McGregor wife of Alex Macpherson sometime residing in Ovie, having paid to her the sum of £200 which she and her husband accepted. They emigrated to New Zealand about 1860, and had a daughter born in New Zealand in 1861. Ann died at Turakina on 20 February 1912 and Alex on 22 March 1916 at Turakina Valley where he was a farmer.
