My Irish ancestors came from County Mayo and the names were Duffy and Heneghan. My gggrandmother Mary Ellen Duffy immigrated circa 1870 from Derrindaffderg, IRE . I also am a descendant of William McGaughey who came to America from Scotland pre-Revolution. If we are connected via our ANcestry DNA kits, you didn't show up as one of my matches (I searched for McGuffin). If you want to pursue figuring out how we are connected, send me an email [email address removed]

Mark, I have not pursued the McGuffin line since it is not my direct line. Yes, I have taken an Ancestry DNA test

Hi Mark,

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.

It looks like the Mayflower Project would be a good fit with the tag you entered. Adding the tag Mayflower will help you get updates about activity for that project.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
