Alfred McGuire and Anne Jackson married in Monroe County, Indiana in 1832. Once Brown County was created in 1836, they resided in Brown County for the rest of their lives. McGuire family tradition has it that Anne Jackson was born in Kentucky, but raised on Jackson Branch in Brown County. This tradition also indicates she was the daughter of John and Leotta (some say Letitia) Wilson Jackson.
