Biography

Mary 'Polly' McGuire was born about 1807 in Tazewell County, Virginia. She was a daughter of Joseph McGuire and Elizabeth Brown.

She married Thomas Brooks on 20 November 1834 in Tazewell County, Virginia.[1]
Tazewell County, Virginia Marriage Register No. 1, p. 125 (FHL Film 4284960, Image 354), I do certify to the Clerk of the County Court of Tazewell that the following marriages was celebrated by me, William McGuire, since the first of January 1834, given under my hand this 25th November 1834: 20 November 1834, Thomas Brooks and Polly McGuire.[2]

Mary Brooks relinquished dower.
