James William McHale was born on November 30, 1890 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He married Rose Bridget Reilly of Mullaloughy, County Cavan, Ireland. He worked as a teamster on the railroad, registered for the World War II draft in 1942. At the time he registered for the draft, he lived at 720 Mosaic Street in Scranton. He is shown to be 5'7" and 149 pounds, with blue eyes, blond hair, and a ruddy complexion. He is also listed as having a shrapnel wound over his left eye (World War I?) and a scar on his right knee. He passed away in June 1967.
