From C Mcinnes via email. Donald was born in Leitir Fura (not Heaste) to Maol caluim mhic Aonghais, last tackman to MacDonald of Sleat of Kinlochwood. (His brothers were Angus, Iain Dubh (Black John), Miles and Duncan.. if I remember right... Angus, Black John, and Donald were smugglers of rum and brandy from France. Donald's son Malcolm shifted to Heaste at time of marriage to Margaret Buchanan (who may have been from Heaste.. or it may have been before that time). Donald had a son Miles also who went to America and ended up in Nova Scotia after the American War of Independence. Malcolm and Margaret had sons Neil, Donald, Alexander (that I know of) and there were a couple of girls I think.
