- Marion was the daughter of Angus and Ann McInnes. Her Death Notice reads:
- "BANES, October 15, 1939 at RPA Hospital, Sydney, Marion, beloved wife of William H. Banes of 37 Waratah Street, Bexley and formerly of Lismore and beloved mother of Archie, aged 68 years. At rest." She was buried at Woronora Memorial Park, Sutherland (Presbyterian Monumental Section 2, Grave 0072)
