DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Martha by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Martha:
Yes, I remember talking to you. Aren't we fourth cousins? If these two are the same, then Mary/Martha is my ggf Jonathan D McInnis's sister.
I'm no wikitree expert, but if you see an obvious duplicate I believe that all you have to do is initiate the merge and write "obvious duplicate" in the reason for merging. Then I can just accept it.
Thanks, looking forward to adding to our McInnis tree. It has took on new interest since working with Ann, the McInnis researcher that contacted me wanting help to find her place in our tree. She can only go back to Angus McInnis and his wife that she doesn't know her maiden name. Our ancestors really stuck to tradition in the naming pattern. I know I have at least 5 Angus McInnis in my tree.;-) You will be hearing from me again......
Also, it seems that one of the traditions is to give the second son the mother's maiden name as a middle name. My grandfather, Robert Rodes III, was the first son of Robert Rodes Jr. and Birdie McInnis. The second son, my great-uncle Mac, was John McInnis Rodes.
Hi, i think we have discussed our family ties on the McInnis line before on Ancestry.com. I just started tree on Wiki Tree.com. Yes, I have a lot to learn. I was building my tree and not thinking I added my 2nd great grandmother, Mary Ann McInnis before checking to see if anyone else might have her on their tree. Then I saw where you had her listed. I added my great grandfather's ID as her husband. But, now I have to correct the fact that she will have 2 numbers unless she is merged with your Mary Ann McInnis. Your number for her is McInnis-279 and mine is McInnis-561. I don't want to mess anything up. Can I just initiate a merge below? I am helping another McInnis researcher for several months. Hopefully, I will be adding to my McInnis line soon.
