MOLD.—On the 2nd September [1932], at Craigie, Martha, the beloved wife of Thomas Mold, and loving mother of Tamzie (Mrs. W. Harse), Catherine (Mrs. R. Cree), Hazel, Martha and Thomas, aged 73 years.[5]
She was buried in Majorca Cemetery, South East of Maryborough.[6] Thomas joined her in 1934.
Research Notes
Death registration nominates her father as Joseph Brook, and birth registration only has her mother, Catherine MACKINTOSH. This would suggest her parents were not married. I have been unable to find a Mackintosh/Brook marriage. Potter-10870 14:09, 26 August 2023 (UTC)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Martha by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Martha:
Another Martha was born in 1858 her mother was Catherine Mackintosh with her father not named in record, she was born in B'DARA which may be Boorandara or Camberwell - Vic BDM Reg N'o 9206/1858.
This Martha better matches the recorded death age of 73 years in 1932.
The names of the Martha Mackintosh - McIntosh - Mold children also match i.e Martha & Catherine but accepted they were common names.
I think the only way to get more info on this is to order a copy of the original image which may reveal more. I would get the birth and death if I were you. You can download them for $22 each from Vic BDM site. I've done some more research and can't figure anything further out. Let me know if you do get them and maybe that info can help sort some things out.
HI again, I also thought i'd bring this conversation over here from Mary Honeychurch Southcombe as it'll be easier to follow here as it relates to this profile. I hope you don't mind...This is what you wrote:
On another matter I have been doing a lot of research on Martha McIntosh - Mackintosh - Mold as her death certificate nominates Catherine Mackintosh as her mother and a Joseph Brooks as her father and sources close to the family also believe same. If this is so, its quite a complex arrangement as Josephs brother George Brooks married Mary Wittick Mackintosh the sister of Catherine and it goes on from there as Catherine later married Andrew Hurse - Harse. Anyway perhaps your DNA results may have Hurse surnames as mine do and the reason for that is likely to be from Catherine McIntosh the grand daughter Lydia Tamzin Mold of Catherine Mackintosh and Joseph Brooks marrying William Alexander Hurse. I trust you are suitably confused as I am/ Cheers Julian
I've had a look at my Ancestry.com DNA but can't find any Hurse's....I'll keep it in mind though. I'm a DNA dummy, so as I learn more, it might help.
A further Martha was born Martha Mackintosh in Camberwell in 1863 - Vic BDM Reg N'o 14693/1863 - her mothers name was Mary W Mackintosh and her father was George Brooks.
This Martha is the daughter of Mary Wittick Mactintosh and George Brooks - Mary Wittick Mackintosh was the sister of Catherine Mackintosh and George Brooks appears to be the brother of Joseph Brooks accordingly both Catherine and Mary wittick Mackintosh had a daughter Martha and both Martha's fathers had the surname Brooks.
Martha died in 1932 at 73 yo indicating her birth was +/- 1859. Her place of death was Majorca, Victoria, Aust.
Martha's death reg in Vic BDM 9701/1932 indicates her father was Joseph Brook.
Her married name was Mold (see death notice and marriage Reg 7106/1888 suggesting she was 29 +/- when she married Thomas Mold. No place of marriage is recorded.
The death registration indicates Martha's mother was Catherine McIntosh.
