Jessie was born in 1865.

In the 1881 Census of Canada James McIntyre 46 born about 1835 in Scotland, tailor, was head of his household in Inverness East, Mégantic, Quebec. Other Household Members were his wife Janet McIntyre 46, born Scotland, and daughter Jessie McIntyre 15, born England. ^[1]

William Spence, of full age, locomotive fireman, son of John Spence, machinist, of Jamestown, New York, and of Margaret Ann Lancaster his wife, married Jessie McIntyre, of full age, spinster, daughter of James Robinson McIntyre, machinist of Montreal, Quebec, and of Janet McMillan, on 24 December 1888 in Presbyterian Saint Mathew (Pointe-St-Charles), Montréal, Québec (Quebec). ^[2]

In the 1891 Census of Canada William Spence 26 born about 1865 in England was head of his household in Ste Anne Ward, Montréal Centre, Quebec. Other Household Members were his wife Jessie Spence 25 born in England, and their son Harry Spence 1. ^[3]
