He married Alicia (Alice) Elizabeth Francis on 20 November 1889 at Cooma, New South Wales, Australia [2] and they had at least one child, Robert Francis McIntyre.
His wife Alice died on 12 December 1902.
He then married Adalia (Adelia) (Johnstone) Mooney, a widow, on 4 December 1907 in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia [3] and their daughter was Alma Adelia (McIntyre) Beddoes.
Robert died on 30 April 1946 in Lismore, New South Wales, Australia [4].
