Biography

Murdoch was born about 1847. He was the son of Donald McKay and Christian Martin. He married Mary Smith of Baile an Truiseil in the late 1870s and they had 9 children together in the parish of Barvas. He passed away after 1919.^[1][2]

P.135- Initially Murdo and his wife Mary lived at split croft 14/15 in Baile an Truiseil and later moved to Croft #1 there in the late 1880s. p.110 p. 84 shows that Murdo switched his croft at #1 to move to 21a Upper Shader. Entries show his wife to be Mary Smith, b. 1852 and their children with birth years are listed.
