Clarence Alexander McKay was born on October 29, 1883, in York, New Brunswick, Canada, his father, Alexander, Alexander McKay was 27 and his mother, Janet, Janet Munn was 27. He married Ellen May "Ella" Palmer in New Brunswick, Canada. They had 14 children in 26 years. He died on July 18, 1958, in his hometown at the age of 74, and was buried in New Brunswick, Canada.

Clarence was born on 29 October 1883 in Hayesville, York County, New Brunswick, Canada. He was the son of Alexander Angus (Mackay) Mckay and Janet MacKenzie (Munn) McKay.
