Biography

John McKay was born about 1797.[1]

John had at least the following children:

  • George D. McKay, b. ca. 1836 Canada; d. 10 Dec 1917[2]
  • Duncan McKay, b. 10 Feb 1837 Glengarry, Canada; d. 24 June 1912 Michigan[3]
  • Donald D. McKay, b. ca. 1845
  • Margaret McKay, b. ca. 1853
  • Sophia McKay, b. ca. 1854

In 1870, John McKay lived in Oscodo, Iosco, Michigan, with his wife Margaret and 4 children. All were born in Canada. John worked as a farmer, while Duncan and Daniel work on boom. George McKay, 35, and his family were enumerated immediately below John's.[1]

He died about 1875.
