Biography
William McKay was born at Kilrea, county Londonderry about 1832, the son of Marshall McKay, Esq., and Mary Ann Crawford, his wife. He was baptised in the parish church of St. Patrick (Church of Ireland) on 24th September 1832.[1][2]
William died of pulmonary consumption on 22nd March 1848. He was about fifteen years of age. The Coleraine Chronicle noticed the death:
At Kilrea, on the 22d inst., of pulmonary consumption, in the 15th [sic] year of his age, William, third son of Marshall M'Kay, Esq., of Kilrea. [3]
His body was buried in St. Patrick's churchyard, Kilrea.[1][4]
