Biography
John was baptised April 6, 1823 in Abbey, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland.
In 1841, John was about 15 years old and a "brass founder apprentice" living with his parents James and Jean and his siblings Alexander age 2 and newborn Jean at 8 Gibbs Entry in Saint Cuthbert's, Edinburgh, Midlothian. James' occupation was "shawl weaver".[1]
He married Jane Bee, daughter of George Bee, on July 12, 1844 at Saint Cuthbert's in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.[2]
He died on January 3, 1848 in Edinburgh and their last child was born a couple of months afterwards.
