John married Catherine Dora (Houck) McKee (born on 21 Oct 1883 in Purchase Line, Indiana, Pennsylvania, United States; daughter of Henry Harrison Houck and Mary Elizabeth (Nupp) Houck) in 1906 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. Their known children were:

John Wilson McKee, a son of James McKee and Rebecca Pollock McKee, was born in Bank Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He married the former Dora Houck in 1906. He was a retired farmer and lumber dealer and was a lifelong resident of Banks Township. He died May 8, 1961 in Rossiter, Banks Township, Indiana County, PA. He is interred in Union Cemetery.
