William McKee was born in 1763 in Augusta, Virginia, son of Samuel Bell McKee and Martha (Unknown) McKee.

William married Rebecca Erwin on 13 Aug 1789 in Augusta. Their children were:

  1. Martha McKee was born 10 Feb 1790 in Harrison County, Kentucky. She died 29 Apr 1869 in Loami, Sangamon County, Illinois and was buried in Foster Cemetery, Curran Township, Sangamon County, Illinois. Martha married Charles Duncan on 7 Apr 1808 in Harrison County, Kentucky. Charles died 1813 in Kentucky?
  2. Charlotte (Mckee) Pierson
  3. Samuel A. McKee was born 1792 in Harrison County, Kentucky. He died 8 Nov 1875 in Warren County, Illinois. Samuel married Susan Denny-115 on 12 Jul 1818 in Harrison County, Kentucky. Susan died before 1850.
  4. Margaret (McKee) Foster born 24 Jan 1796 in Harrison County, Kentucky. She died 20 Apr 1880 in Curran Township, Sangamon County, Illinois and was buried in Foster Cemetery, Curran Township, Sangamon County, Illinois. Margaret married John Ivins Foster-116 on 26 Feb 1819 in Harrison County, Kentucky. John was born 28 Nov 1794 in Harrison County, Kentucky. James married Emeline Humme. Emeline was born 1827 in Virginia. she was the widow of a George Hummer, who had been killed in the Civil War; James also married Jane Burch-117 on 12 Jan 1826 in Fredericksburg, Gallatin County, Kentucky. Jane was born 26 Apr 1806 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. She died 16 Sep 1850 in Sangamon County, Illinois and was buried in Taylorville Cemetery, Taylorville, Christian County, Illinois. daughter of John Burch
  6. Polly McKee Mary McKee was born 1803 in Harrison County, Kentucky. She died 1887 in Vermilion County, Illinois. Mary married James Makemson on 26 Oct 1826 in Harrison County, Kentucky. James was born 24 Jul 1802 in Harrison County, Kentucky. He died 22 Apr 1863 in Vermilion County, Illinois.
  7. John McKee born 2 Feb 1802 in Harrison County, Kentucky. He died in Sangamon County, Illinois John married Mary Browning about 1835 in Sangamon County, Illinois. Mary was born in Boone County, Kentucky. She died 1846 in Loami, Sangamon County, Illinois.
  8. Elizabeth McKee born 1804 in Harrison County, Kentucky.

William died in 1807 in Harrison County, Kentucky, United States aged ~44.
