Marion M McKenzie was born in April 1855 in Oxford, Mississippi, the first child born to Nicesy Lou Cannon, age 21, and Jasper E McKenzie, age 21. In 1860, they had moved to Calhoun County near Sarepta. 
He married Martha Catherine Young in 1873. They had six children in 17 years. In 1880, he was working as a laborer.  The 1900 census, finds him farming in Cleveland, Arkansas. 
He died on November 7, 1925, in Fouke, Arkansas, at the age of 70, and was buried there in the Macedonia Cemetery.
