Erasmus died in 1839. On the 1840 U.S. Census, at Franklin Township, Elizabeth (listed as "Mrs. Prather") appeared as Head of Household.[7] Her household included:

Elizabeth died 21 November 1846, probably at Clermont County, Ohio. She was buried in Hopewell Cemetery, at Felicity, Clermont County.[1]
