Doctor Tatum McKinney was born on February 10th, 1840, and served in the Confederate Army as a second Corporal in Company E, 24th regiment, Georgia volunteer infantry comprising of the "Rabun Gap Riflemen" he would die at 22 years of age in December of 1862 in service of the CSA. He is buried in an unmarked grave at the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery in Dillard, Georgia.
