  • 2nd marriage

Wiley married again on 1 Apr 1900 to Lulu Ann Klepper. She was born on 30 Jun 1879. This marriage produced 3 children, Collin Benton McKinney was born on 6 Jan 1902, but died in 1918. Juanita Valeria (McKinney) Floyd was born on 21 Dec 1903. Mary Wiley (McKinney) Czarowitz was the 3rd child. She was born on 28 Feb 1913 in McKinney, Tezas

1918 was not a good year. Wiley lost his Father on 1 Jan 1918; his Mother died that same week on 7 Jan 1918; and Collin died 24 May 1918.

This in effect was too much for Wiley. After that he kept much to himself.

In the early 40's my family moved in with them. On 7 Sep 1940 my brother was born. This kept things moving.

In Dec, 1941, we were listening to the radio when Pearl Harbor was bombed. My Dad went into the. U.S. Navy. We were glad when Daddy came home for a visit. In Sep 1944, we had a new arrival. My sister was born.

When the war was over we moved a short distance across McKinney to where we were living when, GraGra, as we called my Grandfather, had to go to a nursing home. It was there he passed away on 19 Jan 1954.

Lulu or Mimi, as we called my Grandmother, went to Plano to live with her daughter, Juanita and Lester Floyd. It was there that Mimi died on Dec 28, 1963. Burial was in Pecan Grove Cemetery, McKinney, Texas, in the McKinney Lot with family.
