Biography
McKnight sisters Jane and Sarah "Sallie" of Francis and Charity married Patterson brothers Peter and William E. of James and Sarah.
Jane was born in 1806. She passed away in 1887.[1]
The families were recorded in the Patterson-Henderson family Bible and in genealogy notes of Emma Drennen Miller, whose mother Rebecca was a daughter of Peter and Jack Dickson McKnight Patterson. (Rebecca first married Samuel Coon Drennen and then remarried to James Nesbit.)
However, the Patterson-Henderson Bible spells the surname as "Dixon" while Emma Drennen Miller spelled it as "Dickson" Tombstones at Great Conewego Cemetery at Hunterstown spell it only as "Dickson" in a large group of them. BUT: See the Francis "Frank" McKnight profile for discussion about agreements and disagreements on that McKnight side lineage above Frank. And, notice that this Jane does have Dickson/Dixon as her middle name, supporting Emma's contention that she comes from the James and Jane McKnight at Hunterstown.
